Tell Me More About This Strange Guy...

Since earning a Master's Degree from the San Francisco Conservatory of Music in 2000, I have been actively performing, composing and recording music that is both intelligently crafted and accessible. Besides promoting my latest release, For When I'm Gone, I'm also working with a production crew in New York on work shopping and getting to the stage an original musical I've written about The Rat Pack. Besides performing and recording, I have maintained a teaching position at the Blue Bear School of Music for which I have provided a diverse curriculum for beginning, intermediate and even advanced studies in piano, guitar, classical music, jazz, music theory, songwriting and improvisation. I have an extensive background in classical, jazz, pop and rock music, as well as extensive studio experience and a strong command of ProTools and other computer based recording programs.

For the last six years I have performed with many ensembles around the Bay Area, primarily jazz and musical theater. Most gigs I've had were generally short term, as I like to reserve a great deal of free time for other creative projects. I also get a lot of opportunities for composing/arranging for various organizations, as well as one time collaborations, such as short independent films. I have an extensive background of many diverse awards and other recognitions for my musical achievements, including first place in the Billboard Magazine Songwriting Contest and the Highsmith Award for Orchestral Composition for the piece A Long Road to Anywhere.

Tracks from For When I'm Gone can be heard at www.mrgoodbarmusic.com, and the CD itself is available for purchase there, or also at both Amazon.com and cdbaby.com. Also available at my website are other tracks I've recorded over the years for various projects. Most of these tracks consist of short instrumental pieces for various film projects and orchestral works.
